Well, had a nice weekend, cool weather, luckily. The AC is out. Looks like the compressor blew out when we switched it over to heat at the start of the cool weather last year. Fired it up and it just hums, no blade turn, no compressor start, nothing in the outdoor unit. The heat works fine, and the fan works - just no AC.
Appt for repair Thursday. $169 just to come look at it and figure out what is wrong, then a new compressor will cost $1500+. Ouch.
