She got a hot tip, sold some stock, saved $30k. Not MADE $30k, saved it from being lost.

Her acting on the tip was NOT illegal, and she is not being charged for that.

No - she is being charged with LYING about it to SEC investigators. For this heinous act she is facing up to 20 years in prison.
